Lost Stories Retold
Join Whose Land? and Metcalfe Park Community Bridges in a celebration of the Northside Milwaukee community and the memories that make Milwaukee yours. All members of the Northside Milwaukee community and friends of the project are welcome. Bring yourself, bring your friends, your kids, parents, grandparents, siblings, neighbors, etc.! We want to hear from all of the people that make Northside Milwaukee a community, not just a place. And besides people and stories, consider brining physical reminders of your memories—photos, letters, tokens—we are building a map of stories and we want you on it! So please join us on Saturday, June 8th at Metcalfe Park Black Joy Farm, 2800 W Wright St., Milwaukee, WI from 10:00am-1:00pm. We’ll see you there!

Milwaukee Community Archives Day
This event includes free hot brunch and assistance scanning, digitizing and organizing your personal and family collections (photographs, letters, keepsakes, etc). Professional archivists will be on hand to offer advice and assessment. The occasion is part of a community-based effort in Northside Milwaukee (and Metcalfe Park in particular) to preserve memories and stories of place, in particular of lost spaces where families once had homes, businesses or other experiences. It is an opportunity to build an authentic Community Archive to preserve for generations.
The event is so-sponsored by Metcalfe Park Community Bridges, the Wisconsin Black Historical Society, the Whose Land? Project, and the Wisconsin Humanities Council.
